“In Memory of Man 2,000,000 BC – 20? AD. He Who Once Dominated the Earth, Destroyed It With His Wastes, His Poisons And His Own Numbers.”
This tombstone is found at Bamberger Ranch Preserve in Blanco County Texas where David Bamberger took thousands of acres of scrub land and brought it back to its healthy, native habitat. “I took a gamble. But I wanted to see if man-made habitat could somehow mitigate some of the damage that man does with our development…The general public doesn’t know how interwoven every life-form is on this planet…. And if we keep losing species, we’re going to come up to [the point] where we’re the endangered species.” J. David Bamberger
We ALL know we need to make difficult changes in how we live and treat nature. Taking the environment for granted is no longer an option. She has had enough and is starting to fight back against her unjust stewards. If history is any indication, NATURE will win and this tombstone’s prophecy will become reality. Or we can follow Bamberger’s lead and take steps to help restore our planet.
